No 17. David Levin CEO, Symbian Last year's position : 35
Ex of Psion, one of Symbian's founding and still major shareholders, Levin has nothing less than one of the great opportunities in mobile in his hands. In a year in which few telecoms bigwigs were considered worthy of inclusion, Levin impressed the panel "for making Symbian open" and he looks set to battle not only the obvious candidates - those backing Linux, Microsoft and Palm - but his own shareholders. Will anyone follow Motorola and sell up? Is Nokia pulling too many strings? Will 2004 be the year of the eagerly-expected IPO or maybe a trade sale? Levin knows some of the answers - but how many? Up 18 places.
